Free Printable Patriotic Quilt Patterns: Stitch an American Masterpiece

This pattern was first available back in 2015, an oldie but a goodie!

I love how the designer used a striped fabric around the stars in the table runner. Lots of visual interest with no extra piecing. So smart!

This sample is made from prints in the Honor collection from Tonga Batiks.

The block in this design is called 'Rocky Mountain Chain' and you'll find directions to make it here on the website.

Sashing between the blocks means there's little match.

I just love how the designers let the blue and white star fabric do all the work. Saves a whole lot of piecing or applique time.

The Sawtooth stars are turned on-point to add a bit of dazzle to this creation.

Measure your table first, this is a wide one.

The field of stars is constructed from a variation of the Dutchman's Puzzle block that is shared here on the website.

Remember to set 'Page Scaling' to 'None' or print at '100%" for these free printable patriotic quilt patterns. 

For this design, you want to be sure that the included applique templates are the correct size.

This Confident Beginner friendly quilt can be used as either a table runner or a wall hanging. 

The folded or connector corners technique is use so that even with all those points, you're starting with cut squares and rectangles.

This pattern uses Bargello-style strip piecing to get the piecing done. You'll need to label strips as you go to keep them all in order.

Though the sample for this pattern is in rainbow colors, can't you just see it in patriotic reds, whites, and blue?

What looks like 2 Flying Geese stacked on each other is really 4 half square triangles.

The true clincher for this pattern is that the ombre stripe from Americana by Whistler Studios does most of the work in the center star. 

It takes just 4 (extremely) large diamonds to make each of the 8 diamonds to make it.
