Stairway to Heaven

by Beverly Randolph

My priest friend wanted a TRADITIONAL bed quilt in pink and navy blue. I knew I wanted to use Civil War reproduction fabrics so I started collecting them.

But it wasn't until I found the Generations page on Jacobs Ladder layouts that I decided just what it should be--the "woven" layout that changes the direction of the half-square triangle lights-darks. I thought that was JUST the "twist" a traditional block with traditional fabrics needed.

I am thrilled with the result, and I know she will be, too. She is receiving it next weekend! Yea! I started thinking about it in 2011 and downloaded the pattern in 2014, so it's been a long time coming--but it was worth the effort!

Love the quilt and this use of the block. Jacob's Ladder is one of my favorites.
