Pfaff Performance 5

by Rob Hunter

I have had this machine for almost 4 months. Have used all.kst everyday.

I adore this machine. I bought it as my main sewing machine. This machine has not missed a beat. Broke a needle or a piece of thread.

I love the patchwork feature. Great for perfect piecing. The Maxi Stitches are excellent for quilting borders. The FMQ function is top notch.

The stitch quality is amazing. The auto tension has been spot on. The 9mm stitch width is amazing. And the IDT. Wow. Many machines offer this feature now but Pfaff invented and it is the best I have used.

One of the main reasons I chose this machine was for the Heirloom and Candlewicking stitches. They are wonderful in my whole cloth designs.

The few things I do not like. To wind a bobbin you wrap the thread around the top of the pretension disk. To thread machine you wrap around the bottom of the pretension disk. Meaning to refill a bobbin you have to re-thread the machine.

Also the stitch length can only be set in half millimeter increments

This was an excellent choice for me and I would buy this machine again.
