Old Glory

Old Glory

I had only been sewing for about a year when my son requested a rustic flag quilt. I began searching the internet for help but couldn't find much that I liked.

I had the idea to use worn blue jeans, old flannel shirts and couldn't figure out what to use for white. After weeks of searching, I gave up and changed course. Old blue jeans and red and white heavy cotton. I hated the way it turned out so I began again (from the beginning) and found white jean material and dyed it red.

I again got it together and loved it I decided to wash it before moving forward.....OOPS! Now the whole thing was pink!

The third time is the charm!

This 15-pound monster is 87"X 100", free motion quilted and tied, has cotton batting, ultra-plush backing, a few of the border pockets are functional and it has taught me many valuable lessons!
