Loving Stitches

by Nita Jenkins
(Arlington TX)

I found this quilt top at an antique store on our trip back to my husband's home state of West Virginia. It was on 1/2 price and I could not pass it up. It had a tag on back for the WV Heritage Quilt Search.

Got in the car and immediately searched for it. It was made in 1890!

Too fragile to use but what an amazing piece of history from almost 130 years ago!

To know the maker and time is very special to me.

What an amazing find, Nita!! Those log cabin blocks are still stunning. This piece of history took a lot of time and effort. I can't imagine any of my quilts lasting that long. You came along at just the right time to snag that treasure!!
