This was my entry for the 2010 Salt Creek Quilt Guild - Guild Challenge. Our challenge was to use the blue sky fabric and incorporate 20 ladybugs.

It won first place in the advanced category. I am thrilled as the quilt is voted on by guild members during our Preview Night. Most of the fabric I used is what I purchased from you a while back, Julie. I love your hand dyed fabric! Thank you.

The name of the quilt is "Aurora", for the ancient Goddess of Dawn. So named because of the background fabric. I felt like the sun was coming up and shining on the flowers! Each of the flowers are lightly beaded.

Editor's Note:

In addition to being a creative designer, Nancy is a professional long arm quilter located in Illinois. She quilts on a Gammill with a stitch regulator and specializes in custom quilting.

Her business is called Cedar Haus Quilting. For more information, you can email Nancy at:

Congratulations on your win, Nancy! It's a lovely quilt!
