Quilted Wallhanging

Quilted Wallhanging

This is an Art Quilt that I did as a challenge for a category in the Canadian National Quilt show, Quilt Canada.

The rules of the category, Textile Translations, were that you re-created a piece of art from some other medium (painting, sculpture, etc.) with the original artist's permission, into a quilt.

I chose a ceramic tile mosaic and created a fabric collage by only using 1/4" pieces of fabric to re-create what the original artist had done in ceramic tile.

The result was a 36" x 24" wall hanging that won Second Place in the category.

Incredible Work!

That is one beautiful piece of artwork! I can't imagine the time it took to work with pieces that small. I hope you've got a special place to display it. I know it would look great on my wall. ;>()
