|BeriBees Quilters meet on the third Saturday of the month at the St. Peter Branch of Iberia Parish Public Library at 1111 W. St. Peter, New Iberia, Louisiana. We swap 6 1/2 squares of fabric, we do a Block of the Month quilt and monthly Lotto block. We play 'Fat Quarter Bingo'. |
Our mission is to share ideas, tips, and achievements in our Quilting, Embroidery, Sewing and other Creative Endeavors and to inspire each other by sharing those achievements. We are a diverse group of ladies ranging in age from 10 to 80+, from beginner to seasoned professional.
We have held several contests over the past few years in which the participants make a quilt or quilts which will be donated to charitable causes. One of our charitable causes is Baby/Kid Quilts which are donated to a local doctor who works with needy children. He in turn gives the quilts to children.
Another charitable cause we have participated in is making Quilts of Valor. The quilts are given to local men and women serving in the military.
