Pride of the Prairie Quilters

Plainfield, IL

Pride of the Prairie Quilters' 2010 Raffle Quilt

The Pride of the Prairie Quilters 2010 Raffle Quilt

Pride of the Prairie Quilters is a fun and very welcoming guild to belong to!

Our monthly meetings start with a short business meeting to keep members informed of guild doings followed by a fabulous "Show and Tell" of quilts by our very busy and talented members. Then a quick break for a bit of socializing. Refreshed and ready, we settle in for a presentation by our speaker, sometimes nationally know, sometimes local, but always informative and entertaining.

Workshops given by our speakers are generally held either the Friday and/or Saturday following the lecture.

Once a year, a 'Bee Tea' is held for new members so they can find a bee to join if interested. It's a great way for members to get to know each other.

Our Guild sponsors a biennial quilt show, the next being in 2012. We routinely display over 300 quilts, including our raffle quilt.

Philanthropy and Community Service are encouraged. Our ladies create quilts for a number of local agencies and nursing homes. We've even been able to reach across the ocean to deliver sewing machines to quilters in the Republic of Georgia with the help of Karen Musgrave.

Rounding out our activities are Holiday parties, a picnic, over-night and one day retreats and sew-ins, bus trips, block swaps...and we're open to your suggestions.

Do come join us!
