RE: Steps for Inclusion in our Quilt Shop Directory
Almost 1000 of your potential customers are visit this website daily.
Shouldn't they find you here, too,?
Add your brick and mortar store to our brand new quilt store directory. Get found quickly and easily by quilters looking for quilt stores. And it's FREE!
Use our Quilt Shop Directory Submission Form below to let our visitors know about YOU. It's really simple to do and should take just a few minutes.
For you, this is free advertising. YOU get to write the copy describing your quilt store. You are free to tailor it to your needs.
For me, I help my visitors find quilt stores AND see some great quilts (see "What's the Catch" below.)
To build your page, you'll...
Start with the Basics
This is the general information quilters need to find your store.
Shop Name and Location Hours # of bolts Store specialties Owner Name(s) Email Website, blog, Facebook and/or Twitter URL(s)
...And Then Add the Fun Stuff!
Tell prospective visitors why YOUR store should be at the top of their MUST-SEE list.
Include what you believe benefits your visitors and your store. Things like:
News: i.e. inclusion in the "Top Ten Quilt Stores" magazine
So What's the Catch?
Isn't there always a catch?
Yes, but it's a small one, and one that, I believe, benefits both of us.
In addition to a picture of your store or logo, you MUST submit a minimum of 3 additional photos. These can be of actual quilts from your store (i.e. class samples, pattern samples, customer's quilts (with their permission, of course!) or even samples from your own quilt pattern design line.
The purpose of these photos is to dress up your store's page, because...
Web surfers scan pages.
Large blocks of text aren't scan-able. Adding eye candy (which is exactly what these pictures are) invites the visitor's eye to linger on the page...which is what we both want.
If you want to include even more images, e-mail them to me at: hdfbyjulie at live.com, using the "@" symbol where it belongs, of course!
I give credit where credit is due, so the pattern name and designer, the top maker and the quilter names must be submitted before your "Store Page" will go live on my website.
In supplying these pictures, you are giving me permission to use them on my website. They'll be displayed on your "Quilt Store" page. They may also be included on other pages within the Generations Quilt Patterns website. If they are used on other pages, they will:
Be set up as a clickable image link to your quilt store page (the one you are building now), and...
The quilt pattern name, designer, top maker, quilt and "Photo courtesy of YOUR STORE'S NAME" will be displayed with the photo anywhere it appears on the website.
Let's Sweeten the Deal!
I want this to be very beneficial for both of us, so...
After my traffic hits an average 1000 unique visitors per day (it's between 900-1200 now at the beginning of July, 2011), I may implement an annual fee for this listing with ONE EXCEPTION.
If your quilt store is already listed as a 'Featured Quilt Shop' in our quilt shop directory before a fee structure is implemented, you will never be charged for your listing.
Period.
That is my personal promise to you.
You Can Add Your Own Updates
At the bottom of your page is a place for visitors to the page to add their comments. Encourage your customers to submit their good words about your store.
Furthermore, YOU can use this Comment section to let visitors know about special upcoming events like shop hops, retreats, sew-in days, etc.
Show and Tell Pages
Encourage your customers to post pictures of their quilts to our "Share Your Quilt" page. If your customer mentions your store in the description, I will link from her Show and Tell to your "Store Page" on the Generations Website. Encourage your teachers to do the same.
These things are designed to show your potential customers that YOUR store is a "happening" place to go for the latest in quilting.
Easy as Pie!
That's all there is to adding your FREE listing to our online Quilt Shop Directory. If you have any questions, check out the Quilt Shop Directory Questions page. I've answered several questions there already. If I haven't, just use the form on that page to submit your query.
Let's Start Your FREE Listing!
To begin building your listing, use the form below.
Please disregard the submission guideline warnings about commercial postings and contact information. This is boilerplate language that comes standard with this software system and it can't be changed or removed.
The purpose of this directory is to help you and your store get found by quilters. So do promote to your heart's content.
