Misty Mountain Quilters Guild encourages our members to keep the traditions of quilting alive.
Our monthly guild meetings (visitors are welcome!) consist of socializing before the meeting, a short business meeting, Show and Tell by our membership (about 200 at last count). We invite speakers (regaional and national) for lectures and workshops.
On the 2nd Monday of the month, members are invited to join in our 'Sewcials'. We hold these quilting days at the Mountain presbyterian Church on Hwy 76 in Blairsville. The day made include a class or a quilting technique is showcased. Members can also opt to bring their current project instead. And remember to bring lunch, the day starts at 10am and runs until 3pm.
Our guild has several bees for members to join and is quite active with community servcie projects for Comfort Quilts, Hugs and Kisses (like Project Linus), Nursing Home Aids and Storybook Quilts. You can learn more about these projects on our website.
Members have the opportunity to attend our 3-day annual quilting retreat and participate in our biennial quilt show held in odd-numbered years.

Quiltfest 2011 is our way of promoting quilting. Our show is an open show that will feature 200 quilts, some of the best examples of traditonal and contemporary quiltmaking in the area. Judging will be by an NQA judge. Ribbons and cash prizes awarded.
Other activities at the show include: Door Prizes, Guild-member Boutique, Silent Auction, Merchant Mall.
Our raffle quilt will be on display. Tickets are available for purchase for $1/ea or 6/$5. Proceeds will be split among SAFE, REACH and other MMQG Community service projects. (You can also see our quilt at the North George Shop Hop, May 5-7 at Quilt Shop on the Square located in Ellijay.)
