Rugby Quilters

by Nora Meadows
(Rugby, Tennessee)

Rugby Quilters strive to honor and preserve the art and heritage of quilting, past and present. Most of our guild members live in the village of Rugby and volunteer for many Historic Rugby events that interpret Rugby’s history and culture to tourists. Supported by other members of our community, we have accomplished these activities:

  • Weekly Guild meetings
  • Provide quilt workshop opportunities for members
  • Prayers and Squares chapter members
  • Quilts of Valor
  • Production of quilt note cards as a fundraiser for HRI
  • Opening our homes for HRI Fall and Christmas Tours, providing quilt exhibits for those events
  • Hosts of a Tea for Rugby Garden Show
  • Hosts of the Victorian Tea each fall for Christ Church Episcopal
  • Provide monthly wall hangings for HRI Cafe
  • Morgan County Heritage Quilt Trail, founding sponsors
  • First RQG Quilt Exhibit, April 2011
