Housed in an historic building completed in 1889, Quilter's Compass LLC focuses on blending the old with the new.
We carry a combination of traditional and contemporary fabrics from Moda, Northcott, RJR, Robert Kaufman, Benartex, In the Beginning, and many more. Our selection includes a large selection of batiks, flannels, and an expansive color wall. We also pride ourselves on carrying eco-friendly products including organic cotton fabric, organic cotton batting, wool batting, and Oeko-tex certified (the European equivalent to organic certification) Aurifil thread.
High ceilings and large windows make our shop bright, open, and inviting. The building underwent a full renovation in 2010 just before our opening on August 2. We worked directly with the landlord to make sure we kept the character and charm of an old building (including the original wood floors!) while bringing everything into the 21st century with low-emission windows and doors, and day-light color fluorescent bulbs throughout the store so you can see the ACTUAL colors in the fabric you're about the buy!
We welcome large groups, including buses, and can recommend multiple quilt retreats in the area.
