|The Jubilee Quilters Guild meets on the second Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at First Christian Church, 520 S. Osage in Bartlesville. In threatening weather we follow radio announcements of school closings.|
There is a short business meeting followed by members' Show and Tell and a speaker with a special quilt quilt story to tell. Often the speaker conducts a 3 hour workshop in the afternoon. Longer workshops are held on the Saturday following the meeting.
Recent speakers have included: Lola Jenkins, Toby Lischko, Eddie McGinnis, Beth Ferrier, Lynn Hagemeier, Claudia Plett and LeAnn Weaver.
Two or three times a year we have a pot luck luncheon after the morning meeting.
We currently have two service projects:
- Baby quilts are made by members for distribution to the Washington County Health Department Wee Care Healthy Families division.
- We also participate in Quilts of Valor which makes quilts for wounded American soldiers.
Our purpose is to preserve the heritage of quilting, be a source of information and inspiration, and to encourage a high standard of excellence in quilting and related arts. We are a non profit educational organization and membership is open to all who are interested in quilts.
We host a quilt show in the odd number years.
