"My Pride and Joy" Visual Arts Show and Sale

Saturday, June 6, 2015
Harrison School, 920 Field Avenue, Canon City, CO

Come join Music Geeks of all ages and their groupies (generally family members and music lovers who play radio and audience) for the Second Annual Southern Colorado Community Music Festival. Bands and small ensembles that are open to community musicians will share their talents and efforts with their fellow musicians and everyone else who comes for the fun. Because this year the event is being held on the 71st anniversary of D-Day, we are dedicating it to our Military, whose sacrifices enable us hold this event.

Organizers invite everyone to Harrison School for the expanded day, which this year includes a vendor event and craft show, and performances by the host bands, the Southern Colorado Community Band and the Pueblo West Community Band, and the Arkansas Valley Community Band. Dixieland bands, a jazz band and woodwind quintets will round out the music programs, plus a mass band performance of "The Wizard of Oz."

In addition, this year the first "My Pride and Joy" Wheel and Visual Art Exhibit and Sale will be featured. Anyone whose "pride and joy" that includes at least one wheel of any size is invited to exhibit and even sell their treasure in the parking lot. Cars of all types and ages, doll buggies, skate boards, horse-drawn wagons, bicycles, tricycles and unicycles, whatever has wheels is invited.

Visual Artwork will be displayed in the hallways. Paintings, photos, multi-media, fabric and yarn arts can all be displayed, and if you want to, sold.
Children 12 and under exhibit for free; all others are asked to make a donation to the Festival. Registration forms are on our website.

If you wish to sell your pride and joy, an additional donation to the Festival is requested.

The vendors will be ready for customers at 9 AM, as will the food. There is still room for additional vendors. In future years, community choirs will also be invited.

The event is free for audiences, and a vendor table is $25. For more information, call Sharon Campbell at 719-561-0648 and/or go to our website,
