Stitches of Love Quilt Ministry

by Bev Etzelmueller
(Wauwatosa, WI USA)

The goal of the Stitches of Love Quilt Ministry is to spread the love of our Lord worldwide though the warm bedding provided by the Quilt Ministry. The ministry strives to make beautiful quilts and receiving blankets from donated fabrics, for distribution to individuals who are in physical, emotional, or spiritual need. Quilts are donated to ministries serving the needs of the Greater Milwaukee area, charities and foreign missions.

Some of the charities to which we donate include: Project Linus (mainly Children's Hospital of Wisconsin), Joy House (women & children's portion of the Milwaukee Rescue Mission), Care Net Pregnancy Center of Milwaukee (servicing and supporting the needs of women), and bibs and baby needs to mission in Guatemala.

Prior to the quilts and blankets being distributed, all bedding receives a prayer of blessing on Mother's Day within the sanctuary of St. Matthew's (as shown in the picture).

The ministry meets 4 times a year on a Saturday from 9:00-1:30 at church, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at 1615 Wauwatosa Avenue in Wauwatosa, WI. Phone # is 414-774-0441. There are no dues or membership obligations. At the meetings we have a Quilt Ministry Blitz to see how many quilts can be completed each time.

The ministry is open to church members, friends, co-workers and family. All are welcome.

Anyone need a Bernina 830 with frame?
by: DAVE

My wife passed away shortly after she got her machine assembled and running smoothly. I know she only completed 3 or 4 quilts so it's like new. Knowing her, she bought just about every accessory available. It has the full software package including the Corel design software.

She spent somewhere on the top side of $22,000 for everything. I'm thinking $18,000 would be a fair price.

Buyer is responsible for disassembly and moving this beast.

You may call me at 414-581-7517

Thanks ... DAVE
