Excellent quarter inch in Quilt menu. It has an automatic thread cutter, presser foot raises slightly when you stop in needle down position--great for machine applique and piecing.
Large harp space. When using decorative stitches, you can restart the motif without reselecting the stitch. Has a start and stop button as well as speed control or you can use the foot pedal.
Bobbin is drop in.
My machine is recessed in a large table so that I can machine quilt with the push, pull, fluff, and puff method. I have a separate bobbin case that I can adjust for free motion quilting. My only concern with it--sometimes the thread jumps out of the take up lever which throws the tension off big time. It has been adjusted but still is problematic. My solution--thread the take up lever backwards. (Instead of right to left straight through the take-up lever, I go right to left under the lever and then left to right into the take up lever. In other words the thread loops around the take up lever.) The thread tension is increased a little but "my tension" is decreased a lot. I rarely use the built in thread holders. I use a thread stand in back so that I cane use cones of thread.
Yes, I would recommend it to a friend and I have. I received a referral gift certificate for it.
I am fortunate to have a shop that has an excellent service department and yes, I told them my work around with the take up lever.
I do not take it to classes, etc. It is my stay at home machine.
