The Why Ajo Quilt Show

by Nancy Wesely
(Ajo, Arizona)

The Why Ajo Raffle Quilt

The Why Ajo Raffle Quilt

We live in the small southwestern town Ajo, Arizona and we have a smaller community 10 miles south of us named Why, Arizona where some of our members also live. Our quilt group - the Ajo Piecemakers made the quilt to be our opportunity quilt (raffle quilt) for our 14th annual quilt show. It is a beautiful queen sized quilt and has many southwest designs on the front and on the back too.

Our show will be held on Feb. 5th & 6th, 2010 9:00 am - 3 pm each day.

Admission to the show is $2.00.

Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.

Winner of the quilt will be drawn on Feb. 6th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. and the winner does not have to be present to win.

We use the monies from the quilt show and raffle quilt to give back to the communities of Ajo, Arizona and Why, Arizona. Come join us for a great day.

WhyAjoQuilt show
by: Elaine Murray

The lucky lady to win the quilt was a lady in Ajo that started the Piecemakers quilt group and she recently lost her husband after a long illness.

She will be back quilting up a storm and teaching us all again. Our group supplied the blocks which was to say, "Why we were in Why or AJo." So there are lots of stories in the blocks.

Fun project and Marge Cooper put the blocks together and that was one whale of a job to do. But she did as you can see an excellent job. See ya next year at the Ajo Quilt show? It is a lovely place to spend the winters!!!!

The most beautiful quilt I have ever seen!
by: Bonnie Hausner

I saw, and bought tickets for, this quilt at the plaza, (in November, I think). I love this piece of art! It is a treasure for some lucky person. I had to miss the quilt show this year due to medical appointments, and I am so dissappointed. I would really appreciate a photo of this quilt. Please let me know if there is someone who would be kind enough to sell/provide me with one. I have told everyone I know about this quilt, and would love to show it off to them. Thank you!

Nancy,
That is a beautiful quilt! I wish I lived closer than the Midwest so I could visit your show.
