Opal, my Eclectus parrot as a baby

Opal, my Eclectus parrot as a baby

This is my first art quilt, ever made.

First I pierced the back, then screen printed the first layer of gum leaves. Next I appliquéd Opal, she is my Eclectus as a baby, she was orange. Hence her name.

Then I appliquéd the tree with both flat leaves and some that are 3D.

Very happy with my first attempt ever.

Here she is.

Beautiful Work!

This isn't a quilting technique that I've gotten up the courage to try yet. You've done a beautiful job here.

I take that as encouragement that maybe I could learn to applique some day.

Thanks for sharing!
