After moving to San Diego from the East Coast, I fell in love with the weather, sights, ocean, and the many attractions.
I decided to design a quilt to Celebrate San Diego.
After making the quilt (a pictorial applique quilt), friends encouraged me to market and sell the patterns. I have gone on to design and create "San Francisco!", "Washington, DC.", "Aloha Hawaii", "California Missions", "TEXAS!" and many individual one block wall hangings like "You've Got Mail!" (from a photo of a side street in Ramona lined with mailboxes), and the Star of India.
If you enjoyed this quilt, please do let the quilter know by posting your comments. And if you've got one to share, don't be shy, we'd love to see it!
Thank you for sharing this quilt! My family and I moved from San Diego 24 years ago! It was getting too expensive to live there anymore for us.
We moved to Grand Rapids MN and I don't regret the move, but at times I miss the mountains, close friends and family, too!
I can recognize the places you have made in this quilt! Thanks for the memories!
I lived in Ramona CA. For many years as I was growing up, I know where you are talking about the mailboxes! Once again thanks for some precious memories!!
Please could you e-mail me a picture of that quilt finished! I would love to see it.
Happy Quilting, Donna
